S'anomena arrel n-èsima del nombre x, el nombre y que elevat a n dona x:      bold n-th root of bold x bold equals bold y bold space bold left right double arrow bold y to the power of bold n bold space end exponent bold equals bold space bold x

També es pot escriure com un exponent FRACCIONARI:
